Kings To Interview Jordan

As has been expected, the Sacramento Kings, according to the Associated Press, took a baby-step in their quest to replace former coach Kenny Natt by planning an interview with former Washington Wizards and ironically Kings coach Eddie Jordan; the team confirmed the interview in a blog post at the team’s website on Friday, adding that they hope to interview Jordan sometime next week.

As previously mentioned, Jordan cut his NBA coaching teeth as coach of the Sacramento Kings in March 1997 until 1998 when the Kings fired him after going 33-64; he would be replaced by Rick Adelman who would lead theKings to 8 consecutive winning seasons and playoff appearances.

Jordan is an intriguing interview, especially in light of the fact that current New Orleans Hornets coach Byron Scott more than likely will not get the opportunity to interview for the Kings’ coaching vacancy, thank you very much George Shinn.  Jordan is obviously a competent coach; unfortunately for him, the Wizards let him go even though the team was for the most part injury-riddled – through no fault of Jordan.  So suffice it to say that Jordan is the best of the rest of the unemployed NBA coaches.  Personally, I hope Shinn has a brain cramp and grants Sacramento permission to interview and hire Scott.  As they say in the NBA, “The NBA – Where Amazing Happens.”
