Tru-Warrior May Have Found Himself A Home In Houston
Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Free Agents, NBA Rumors

The Houston Rockets season came to an end on Sunday as they lost game seven of the Western Semi-Final series to the Los Angeles Lakers. On Monday Rockets veteran forward Ron Artest who will become a free agent at the end of the NBA Finals made it quite clear there is only one place he wants to be next season. Right back in Houston!
“Tru-Warrior” certainly had no problems expressing himself to the “Houston Chronicle” about his preferences for the next campaign. When reporters asked the controversial forward if he wants to play in Houston next season he responded “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! That is yes. I just know this team was so good, I think we’ll grow together.”
The attraction appears to be a mutual one as Houston General Manager Daryl Morey says the team would like to work out a deal with Artest who just completed his tenth season in the Association back next season. “Tru-Warrior” was traded to the Rockets from the Sacramento Kings last Summer.
Artest could have become an unrestricted free agent by opting out of his deal but decided to stay with the Kings. Almost as soon as the decision became final Artest started expressing remorse that he had not opted out of the contract. Kings Ownership not wanting the headaches soon traded the veteran to Houston.
Morey sounded optimistic that a deal could be reached between the player and the team. The G.M. told reporters “He has a desire to come back. We have a desire to make it work. That’s step one with a lot of steps from here.”
