No Big Surprise! Finals TV Ratings Down From 2008!

Alright Cavaliers Nation! I know you are bumming big time right about now; once again that elusive Championship has ended up in someone else’s hands. Now you are dreading turning on the TV or open a newspaper this Summer because you know that you will be bombarded with reports of how LeBron James is going to bolt your city to play in New York!  Well when your annoying Cousin Anthony from Staten Island calls you on the phone you can share this with him. Here is further proof that the New York Knickerbockers do not mean anything to the success of the Association!

There are only two teams in the NBA that can engender such unabashed love and such vitriolic hate. They are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. The New York Yankees are the Crown Jewel of Baseball and the New York Giants have a cadre of fans across the Nation. But love them or hate them every NBA fan has deep feelings about the Celtics and the Lakers.

The “Associated Press” reported Tuesday that TV ratings show that the NBA Finals dropped almost 10% from last year as the Lakers faced the Orlando Magic in the 2009 NBA Finals. The series averaged an 8.4 rating this year down from the 9.3 ratings that the Finals received last season. The Boston Celtics defeated the Lakers last year in six games for their first title in 22 years. So just remember when Anthony is on the phone that NYC is not all that when it comes to  the NBA.
