The Indiana Pacers begin their 2009-10 season in earnest as they face the Chicago Bulls Friday night. And the way things are shaping up, according to Tom Lewis over at Indy Cornrows, the Pacers will be rather short-handed – which, depending on your point of view, could be either a good or bad thing.
Don’t expect Mike Dunleavy, Tyler Hansbrough, Travis Diener or Earl Watson to play; the chances of Troy Murphy playing (gimpy ankle) don’t appear good, either. If anything good does come of this, it will be the opportunity for Solomon Jones, Josh McRoberts and A.J. Price to see increased playing time and impress the Pacers’ brass.
And again, I will go on record here and say that I expect Price to make the final 13-man roster when all has been said and done at the end of October.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how Hansbrough plays in the NBA, unfortunately where I am located we probably won’t see that many of his games. Indiana is probably the best team he could have landed with though, as having Larry Bird in the background cannot be a bad thing for him.
