Just when the Los Angeles Clippers would start the NBA regular season with at least a glimmer of hope, it turns out that the glimmer in question has been snuffed out – for now.
According to the Associated Press and announced by the Clippers, rookie forward Blake Griffin has a broken left kneecap which could sideline him for up to six weeks. The injury was confirmed late Monday night. The team will confirm further information on Tuesday.
The injury took place during the Clippers’ game against New Orleans last Friday when he dunked, which left him wincing in pain. You know, I would have to say that in addition to being one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NBA, they tend to be a bit snake bitten, as well. And to think that the Clippers could have made great strides this season had Griffin had not been injured. A tough break for all involved.
