The Washington Wizards, according to the Washington Times, have secured two more players for another year as the option was picked up for guard Nick Young and center/forward JaVale McGee; their option being renewed means both will be in Washington next season.
Under the current terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the first two years of a first round pick’s contract are guaranteed and the team has the option to renew the contract for a third and fourth season. Young, in his third year, will be under contract through the 2010-11 season and earn about $2.6 million while McGee, a second-year player, was renewed for his third season and will earn about $1.6 million.
