Pacers News And Notes

Posted by Stephen Rhodes under NBA Contract Extension, NBA Injuries

There’s some good and bad news in the Hoosier State, according to Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star:

  • The next two weeks will be trying for the Indiana Pacers as they will be without the services of center Jeff Foster for at least two weeks, due to a sprained ankle. The nature of the injury is believed to be a high ankle sprain, which he suffered during Friday’s loss to the Miami Heat. The injury leaves Indiana with a relatively inexperienced frontcourt; the blow could be somewhat softened as rookie forward Tyler Hansbrough could make his debut on Friday when the Pacers take on the Washington Wizards, assuming that he suffers no setbacks in practice this week.
  • The team also announced on Sunday that guard Brandon Rush and center Roy Hibbert have had their third-year options picked up. With the option renewals, Rush will earn $1.7 million during the 2010-11 season while Hibbert will make $1.4 million.
