LBJ And Cavaliers Toy With Knicks In 100-91 Win!
Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Game Recap

If you did not watch the game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knickerbockers Friday night and you are only going by the final score Cleveland winning by a 100-91 margin you may be under the impression that the Knickerbockers played respectably against one of the top teams in the Association. Wipe those impressions out of your mind immediately as the final score was in no way indicative of how much of a drubbing the Cavaliers put on the team from Gotham.
Here are some better indicators; at the end of the first quarter Cleveland led New York 40-21. When the Cavaliers entered the locker room at the half they were on top 63-40. Cleveland just let up on the accelerator in the second half as the Knickerbockers prospered in extended garbage time; to be precise 24 minutes of garbage time.
The man who will break New York fans heart when he re-signs with Cleveland next summer LeBron James easily could have had a triple double as he scored 33 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds but there was not enough challenge for him to get it. The Cavaliers shot a scalding 53.5% (38-71) from the floor for the game and outscored The Knickerbockers in the paint 30-20. Those numbers far better reflect exactly how one sided this contest was.
Cleveland was so dominant they only had 3 players in double figures as opposed to five players for New York and Mo Williams scored just 12 points while Daniel Gibson added just 11 more. David Lee was the high scorer for the Knickerbockers with 21 points in the loss.
With the win Cleveland goes back above the .500 mark as they now have a record of 4-3 and will have plenty of time to practice as well as enjoy some “R&R” as they are off until Wednesday when they face the Magic in Orlando next Wednesday. The Knickerbockers are now 1-5 and will be in Milwaukee Saturday to take on the Bucks.
