Phoenix and Boston volleyed the lead back and forth in the first however the Suns would hold a 29-27 advantage at the end of the quarter. The Suns would increase their lead in the second and would head into the locker room on top 57-51.
The Celtics got as close as two points down many times in the second half but they could get no closer. Boston cut the Phoenix lead down to just 2 points at the end of the third trailing 85-83. However the Celtics just could never get over the hump and the Suns held on for the win.
