The Spurs took a sustantial hit of sorts when guard Tony Parker sprained his ankle in the team’s loss to Portland Friday night; the injury, according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, will sideline Parker approximately a week – which has been confirmed by the star point guard.
The X-rays taken of Parker’s ankle proved to be negative and he will be re-evaluated Saturday (today) after the team returns to San Antonio. In the meantime while Parker recuperates, expect reserve George Hill to assume the point guard responsibilities. While it is a big hit, I think the Spurs will do just fine with Hill in the starting lineup.
