Clippers’ Gordon To Miss Another 10 Days

As if the Los Angeles Clippers needed another albatross hanging on their shoulder already, the weight keeps getting heavier. Having rookie Blake Griffin sidelined due to a broken kneecap is a big hit, without a doubt. But to further add to the team’s injury woes, it looks like a major source of offense – guard Eric Gordon – will miss an extended period of time due to a strained left groin muscle, according to Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times.

Gordon suffered the injury during the Clippers’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies and also sat out against Los Agngeles’ loss to the New Orleans Hornets on Monday; he will miss a minimum of six games and isn’t expected to return until November 23, at the earliest. Suffice it to say, the team misses Gordon’s presence and production.

A good example would be that during the game against the Hornets, Ricky Davis and Rasual Butler (Gordon’s replacements) struggled defensively (old news, but I digress) and combined made only 11 of 27 shots during the contest. So to say that Gordon is missed is an understatement. Safely assume that Butler will definitely need to step his game up a notch as Davis is as unreliable as they get these days.
