Celtics Have The “TOUCH”; Bombard Jazz 105-86!

The Boston Celtics Wednesday night at the “New Garden” had the “TOUCH“; one of those nights that a team can seemingly do nothing wrong offensively. The Celtics shot a blistering 53.2% (41-77) from the floor and had seven players in double figures as they just torched the Utah Jazz 105-86. Kevin Garnett the Boston onslaught with 18 points and the team is now 8-1 in the still young NBA campaign. Utah guards Deron Williams and Ronnie Brewer led four Jazz players in double figures as each scored 13 points.

Boston came out of the gates with intensity and did not let up until the game was safely tucked away in the fourth. The Celtics would hold a 28-23 lead at the nd of the first period. They would increase their advantage heading into the locker room at the half on top 54-44.

Any doubt remaining was erased quickly in the third quarter as the “Green Team” would blow the Jazz out of the water. Boston would hold an 84-62 lead heading into the fourth quarter. At no time during the final 12 minutes of play did Utah pose a credible threat.

Kevin Garnett would score a game high 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist in just 26 minutes of playing time. Ray Allen added 15 points and 4 assists while point guard Rajon Rondo would record a double-double as he had 14 points, 11 assists, 2 steals and 1 rebound in the Celtics victory. Paul Pierce would put 13 points in the bucket while Rasheed Wallace came off the bench with 12. Kendrick Perkins and Marquis Daniels would each score 10 points in the win.

Deron Williams and Ronnie Brewer would each score 13 points in the Jazz loss. Andrei Kirilenko would add 12 points while Carlos Boozer put up 10 more. Boston now with a record of 8-1 will host the Utah Jazz Friday night. Utah drops to a 3-5 mark and will play Friday night in Philadelphia when they take on the Sixers.
