Kings Eyeing Dalembert
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under NBA Rumors

Although rebounding has been a strength for the Sacramento Kings as of late, it looks like they are in the market for reinforcements as according to Sam Amick and Ailene Voisin of the Sacramento Bee, the team is currently involved in talks for a three-team deal with Philadelphia and Boston in which Kings forward Kenny Thomas would go to the 76ers and bring center Samuel Dalembert to Sacramento.
A league source has confirmed the talks; however, there may be a stumbling block which explains the Kings’ lukewarm interest in Dalembert: the player’s remaining two-year, $24.9 million contract. Yet Dalembert’s agent, Marc Cornstein (who also represents the Kings’ Beno Udrih) seems to think that the Kings would be a good fit for the 76ers center, adding:
“I think it would be a good fit if he was here. He can run the floor well, and this is a young, running team. He can block shots, he can rebound. Those are his strengths. Those are the things he brings, and I think the skill set that he brings are things that the Kings can use. If he were to get here, I think he’d be a very good fit.”
As previously mentioned, it is the size of the contract that would hinder a deal of this stature; now if they can make some substantial changes to the existing contract, then perhaps this proposed trade may gain some traction. But until then, only time will tell.
