Paul Pierce scored a team high 19 points, Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double and the Boston Celtics shot 52.5% (42-80) from the floor for the game as they took down the Golden State Warriors Wednesday night 109-95. Boston had six players in double figures and the win ended the club’s two game losing streak. Corey Maggette led all scorers as the Warriors veteran had 23 points in the team’s second loss in two nights. Tuesday Golden State fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers by a final score of 114-108.

The game did mark the first appearance of Raja Bell in a Warriors uniform as the shooting guard who came over from the Charlotte Bobcats in the trade that sent Stephen Jackson to the Eastern Division. Bell came into the contest off of the bench and scored 11 points. This was the last game for Bell before having surgery to repair a partially torn tendon in his wrist. Bell is expected to miss the next four months.

The game was a contest for the first half however the Celtics put the game out of reach in the third quarter. Boston would be on top 27-23 at the end of the first. They would still have the lead as both teams walked into the locker room at the half but it was down to a razor thin margin of 49-48.

The two teams traded the lead back and forth throughout the first four minutes of the third quarter however that was when Boston increased their intensity at both end of the floor. Soon the Celtics had the lead up to double digits and would hold an 80-67 lead at the end of the quarter. Golden State never came close to getting back in the game in the final 12 minutes of play.

Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block and 1 steal while Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double as he had 18 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds and 1 steal.  Ray Allen and center Kendrick Perkins each scored 15 points for Boston, Kevin Garnett added 12 points while Eddie House came off the bench and put 11 points on the scoreboard.

Corey Maggette led all players with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block and 1 steal. Monta Ellis scored 18 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals while rookie Stephen Curry added 13 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Raja Bell and Anthony Randolph each scored 11 points for the Warriors in the loss. Boston improves to a 9-3 record and will host the Orlando Magic Friday night. Golden State heads back home and will play host to the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.
