Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward and reigning NBA MVP LeBron James was awarded the NBA Player of the week from the Eastern Conference Monday for games played  from November 16-22. Los Angeles Lakers All-Star guard and winner of the 2008 NBA MVP Kobe Bryant was given the honor for the Western Conference.

The Chosen One” helped the Cavaliers go 3-1 during the week as James averaged 34.3 points, 9.3 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting a torrid 58% from the floor. Cleveland is currently 10-4 and residing in first place in the NBA Central Division. They have gone on a 10-2 run since beginning the campaign 0-2.

The Black Mamba” had his fourth game this season when he has scored 40 or more points last week as the Lakers had a 3-0 record. Bryant averaged 29.8 points, 6.7 assists, and 6.7 rebounds per game. Kobe also is now the second leading scorer in the Lakers history as he passed Hall Of Fame Center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar last week. Bryant now only trails the man on the NBA Logo guard Jerry West in scoring; West finished his career with 25, 192 points while Kobe currently is at 24, 176. Los Angeles has a 10-3 record but they are in second place in the NBA Pacific Division trailing the Phoenix Suns by a half  game.
