Cavaliers Hope To Have Shaq Back Wednesday Against Pistons
Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Injuries

The “Associated Press” reported Monday that Cleveland Cavaliers veteran center Shaquille O’Neal wa back practicing with the club Monday and the team is hoping he will be able to return to action on Monday night. O’Neal injured one of his shoulders (he would not reveal to reporters which one) against the Miami Heat on November 12. The veteran was attempting to block a shot from Heat forward Michael Beasley and has missed the team’s last five games. Cleveland went 4-1 during the five games.
O’Neal told reporters Monday that he wanted to play through the injury and asked for the team to give him a cortisone injection so he would be able to keep playing. The team refused to do it worrying about the veteran doing further injury to himself. Shaq told reporters although he was upset initially he realized that it showed that Cleveland truly cared about their players and their long term health. O’Neal was acquired by Cleveland during the summer from the Phoenix Suns.
