Kobe Has 34 As Lakers Knock Out Knicks 100-90!
Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Game Recap

The final score of this game was really not a fair indication of how truly badly the Los Angeles Lakers embarrassed the New York Knickerbockers Tuesday night. New York was able to make the score a lot more respectable looking as they had 12 minutes of garbage time in the fourth quarter.
However even with that the Lakers still defeated the team from Gotham by 10 points 100-90. Kobe Bryant looked like he was exerting very little effort to score a game high 34 points. Even with the Knicks able to rack up points in the fourth they still shot an unimpressive 38.9% (35-90) from the floor for the game and just 33,3% (11-33) from outside the arc.
New York despite their defensive inadequacies can usually shoot with any team in the Association but that was not the case against L.A. The Lakers took the lead at the start of the game and basically took the Knicks out of it quite early on. Los Angeles would end the first quarter on top 30-24 and it would only go down hill for New York from there. By the time the game had reached the half the Lakers lead was 55-45.
If there was even a shred of doubt remaining about this game’s outcome it was eliminated in the third as Los Angeles had an 85-62 advantage. The Knicks could have played five on two in the last 12 minutes of play and still would have lost this game.
Kobe Bryant would have a game high 34 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in the Lakers victory. Andrew Bynum would score 17 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block while Ron Artest also added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Derek Fisher put up 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal while Pau Gasol recorded a double-double with 11 points, 16 boards, 2 assists and 2 blocks.
Wilson Chandler would have 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks while Nate Robinson came off the bench with 15 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. David Lee scored 13 points, Toney Douglas came off the bench with 12 more and Danilo Gallinari added 11 points in the loss. Los Angeles with the victory has a record of 11-3 and will next play Saturday as they take the Pacific Coast Highway to Golden State. New York is now 3-11 and will play in Sacramento against the Kings on Wednesday.
