As if the enigmatic Detroit Pistons needed another loss not involving a final score, they took a hit Wednesday when according to Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press, shooting guard Ben Gordon sprained his ankle during Wednesday’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Gordon suffered the injury late in the second quarter on a drive to the basket; he was able to remain in the game after a 20-second timeout, but had to be helped to the locker room at halftime. Depending on the final prognosis, Gordon will join fellow teammates Rip Hamilton (right ankle) and TayshaunPrince (back) on the sidelines. Expect Will Bynum and perhaps Rodney Stuckey to see an increased workload while Gordon’s convalescing.
