Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Game Recap

Charlotte Bobcats small forward Gerald Wallace is a very good basketball player; he is not an NBA All-Star but on certain nights he can play like one. Friday night was one of those nights as Wallace recorded a double-double including a game high 31 points as his Bobcats defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 94-87.
The victory was Charlotte’s third straight and spoiled the return of Cavaliers center Shaquille O’Neal from a shoulder injury. Cleveland was led by LeBron James who had 25 points; however the team looked a tad off all game long. The newest member of the Bobcats Stephen Jackson added 17 points against a team he was rumored to be traded to a few weeks ago while he was still with the Golden State Warriors.
Cleveland came out looking tentative in the first and Charlotte took full advantage of that grabbing a 26-19 lead at the end of the period. The Bobcats picked up their offensive pace in the second and would get themselves a healthy cushion to rest on at the half as they were on top 58-43.
The Cavaliers would outscore Charlotte in both of the final two quarters but it was too little and far too late. Cleveland would shave a little off the Bobcats lead in the third however Charlotte still led 82-71 heading into the fourth quarter. Neither team was able to produce even decent results offense wise in the final 12 minutes and the Bobcats would hold on for the win.
Gerald Wallace had a game high 31 points, grabbed 14 boards, 3 steals and 1 assists while Stephen Jackson added 17 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 block. Nazr Mohammed came off the bench and scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist while Flip Murray came off the pine with 10 points and 3 assists.
The Cavaliers really did not get very good nights out of most of their players except for three. LeBron James led the way with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists while Mo Williams scored 22 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal. Shaquille O’Neal in his return added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 1 block. The Cavaliers got zero points from the shooting guard position in the game with starter Anthony Parker and reserve Delonte West both unable to score a point. Little aside to Cleveland General Manager Danny Ferry; There is a guy named Iverson sitting at home right now that could get your club a lot of points in that position.
Charlotte now has improved to a 6-9 mark and will be in Washington Saturday night taking on the Wizards. Cleveland falls to 11-5 and will host the Dallas Mavericks Saturday.
