When the Boston Celtics are running on all cylinders they are an awesome spectacle to watch on the court as they are almost machine like in their intensity and ability. Friday night the “Green Team” showed the home crowd at the “New Garden” just how good they can play as they shot the lights out against the Toronto Raptors winning the game 116-103.
Boston shot a scalding 62.3% (48-77) from the floor with six Celtics players in double figures led by veteran guard Ray Allen with 20 points. With all the scoring what it truly came down to in the end was good defensee late in the game on the part of the Celtics. Boston when motivated can play defense as well as any other current team in the Association; all it takes is effort and desire.

When the smoke cleared the Celtics would have an 87-72 lead over Toronto. The Raptors would threaten in the early part of the fourth quarter cutting the lead down to 10 but that is as close as they got as Boston would hold onto their hearty cushion and take the contest.

Paul Pierce put up 18 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals while Kendrick Perkins also came up with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
