Perhaps it is the colder weather or getting used to being in the Eastern Time Zone; however for what ever the reasons the Phoenix Suns have been far from impressive in their two games of their Eastern road trip. The Suns had their second straight loss in consecutive nights Wednesday as they proved to be no challenge for the Cleveland Cavaliers who would win in a rout 107-90.

Phoenix, who lost to the lowly New York Knicks Tuesday night 126-99 lost two games in a row for the first time since the NBA regular season began. It was also only the second time they were held under triple digits in a game; the first occurrence being Tuesday in New York. Zydrunas Ilgauskas came off the bench to lead Cleveland with 14 points  while  both LeBron James and former Phoenix center Shaquille O’Neal had 12 points each. Suns center Channing Frye had a game high 22 points in the loss.

The final score as lopsided as it was was truly not an accurate indication of how Cleveland dominated most of this  game. The Cavaliers had a 25 point lead with 9:57 remaining in the game as they were on top 87-62 after Jamario Moon knocked a 22 foot trey. However Cleveland let their intensity down in the final few minutes to make the final score more respectable on the Suns part.

The Cavaliers had the hot hand in the first as Phoenix looked like they left their offense in the locker room. When the smoke cleared at the end of the period things did not look too bright for the Suns as they trailed 33-14. Phoeeniix  did not do all that much better in the second however Cleveland fell back to earth and they would walk into the locker  room at the half leading 57-29.

Phoenix was able to make some inroads during the third but were in such a hole at the beginning of the period that they still were down by a great deal with the score 79-58 as they approached the last 12 minutes of play. Phoenix at no time during the fourth period posed a credible challenge to the Cavaliers who would hold on for the relatively easy win.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas was the leading scorer for Cleveland with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal while J.J. Hickson would add 13 points and 8 rebounds in the teams victory. LeBron James recorded a double-double with 12 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal while Shaquille O’Neal also had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block. Mo Williams would score 11 points for the Cavaliers while Anthony Parker each had 10 points.

Channing Frye led all players with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Amare Stoudemire had a double-double with 14 points, 12 boards, 1 block and 1 steal while Steve Nash also had 14 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 steal. Goran Dragic added 14 points off the bench while Grant Hill would score 12 more. The victory gives Cleveland a record of 13-5 and they will host the Chicago Bulls Friday; Phoenix is now 14-5 and will be back at home Saturday as they host the Kings.
