Kevin Garnett scored a game high 20 points Thursday night as the Boston Celtics won their sixth consecutive game defeating the San Antonio Spurs 90-83. The Spurs looked dazed and confused in the first period and the Celtics took full advantage of that leading to the relatively easy win. Spurs forward DeJuan Blair came off the bench to lead his club with a double-double including a team high 18 points while Tim Duncan would also record a double-double in the loss. Boston with the win  now has a record of 15-4 as we near the quarter pole of the NBA campaign.

The Celtics did not have an exceptionally good first quarter however San Antonio did play exceptionally bad. The looked like they lost on their home court as they could not muster much of an offense and Boston would jump on top 25-15 at the end of the period. The Spurs found a little more rhythm to their game in the second and were able to shave a tad off the lead however the Celtics would head into the locker room at the half with a 47-39 advantage.

Boston would get their lead back up to double digits by the end of the third as the score was 74-63 heading into the fourth quarter. San Antonio would get as close as 4 points away from the Celtics  however they could never get over that hump and Boston would hold on for the win.

Celtics All-Star forward Kevin Garnett  has seemed to been getting his offensive timing better over the last few games led all players with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals while veteran Ray Allen would add 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in the victory. Rasheed Wallace had a strong night off the bench with 13 points, 4 blocks and 2 rebounds while Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double as he had 12 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block.

DeJuan Blair came off the bench to lead the Spurs offense with a double-double including 18 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks while Tony Parker would put up 17 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds. Tim Duncan also  had a double-double with 16 points, 15 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal while Manu Ginobili came off the pine and added 11 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds. Boston improves  to 15-4 with the victory and will play Friday in Oklahoma City as they taken on the Thunder. San Antonio has a record of 9-7 and will host the Denver Nuggets Saturday.
