With all the talk about the trials and tribulations Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West has gone through with his battling through mental health issues there is one thing that some NBA observers tend to forget. When West is focused he is a very talented ballplayer who shows no fear on the court. West at his best loves to penetrate and he has no reservations going up against opponents that are far larger. After reigning NBA MVP LeBron James there was no more consistent player for Cleveland during the Post Season than West was.

There have been some signs over the last few games that the “Real” Delonte West was about ready to return and it looks like Sunday may have been his Coming Out Party. West led Cleveland with 21 points while LBJ added yet another double-double and the Cavaliers beat on the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday like Ricky Ricardo on the congas winning 101-86. Bucks rookie Brandon Jennings led all players with 24 points in the loss.

Cleveland would just take over the game in the first half and somewhat coasted through the last 24 minutes of play. Milwaukee would get off to  a hot start in the opening minutes of the first however the Cavaliers would have the lead by the end of the period. The game for all intent and purposes ended there as Cleveland would have their lead up to double-digits less  than 2:00 into the second and Milwaukee would never get closer for the rest of the game.

The Bucks opened up the game with an 11-0 run but their luck would not stay that good for long as the Cavaliers would get hot at the end of the period and hold a 21-17 lead as the quarter concluded. Milwaukee looked lost on their home court during the second and Cleveland took full advantage of that as the would head into the locker room at the half with the win basically clinched as they led 52-33.

Milwaukee got their offense more on track in the second half but it was far too little and far too late. The Bucks shaved a point off the Cavaliers lead in the third yet still trailed 75-57 as the two teams went into the final 12 minutes of play. The Bucks at no time during the fourth quarter mounted a serious challenge to the Cleveland lead.

Delonte West scored 21 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block while LeBron James recorded a double-double with 14 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block. Also scoring in double figures for Cleveland; Mo Williams had 13 points, forward J.J. Hickson put up 11 points and Shaquille O’Neal added 10 more.

Brandon Jennings who has to be getting serious consideration as rookie of the year led all players  with 24 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds. Carlos Delfino and Hakim Warrick each scored 11 points  in the loss. Cleveland now improves to 15-5 and will play in Memphis Tuesday while the Bucks are now at 9-10 and will be in Boston Tuesday to take on the Celtics.
