Tuesday night the Cleveland Cavaliers could not have asked more from the “Chosen One” reigning NBA MVP LeBron James as he recorded a double-double including a game high 43 points. However he could not guard all five Memphis Grizzlies starters each of whom scored in double figures led by Zach Randolph who pulled off a double-double of his own including 32 points. Memphis after falling behind in this game early knotted the game up at the end of regulation and would defeat Cleveland in over time 111-109.

The win was the third straight for the Grizzlies who are now 6-4 in their last 10 games. Cleveland snapped a four game winning streak and have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games while having a 7-4 record on the road. Memphis point guard Mike Conley who was rumored to be on his way out of the starting rotation a few weeks back would score the decisive hoop in the extra period as he laid the ball up and in with 3 seconds on the clock.

The Cavaliers would build themselves a substantial lead in the first half only to see the Grizzlies dismantle it in full by the end of regulation. Cleveland would grab a 31-25 lead at the end of the first quarter. They would have their advantage up to double digits by the time the game reached the half with the score 59-48.

Memphis would cut that lead down quite a bit in the third quarter as the Cavaliers played like they left their offense in the locker room. This would result in the Cleveland lead being down to 78-76 as the period came to and end. The two opponents would volley the lead back and forth throughout the final period of regulation. Rudy Gay with 18 seconds left in the quarter drove the lane and put the rock through the cylinder which would knot the score at 100-100 and send the game into overtime.

Once again the two teams traded the lead between each other until Conley would score the winning basket with 3 seconds left. LBJ put up  a 30 foot prayer at the buzzer but it missed the mark and Memphis would get the win.

Zach Randolph may have found himself a home in Memphis as the veteran has taken on a leadership role with the club and been productive as well. Randolph had a double-double with 32 points, 14 boards, 4 steals, 2 assists and  1 block in the Grizzlies victory.   O.J. Mayo scored 28 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 steal while Rudy Gay added 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, 3  blocks and 2 assists. Mike Conley would put 12 points on the score-sheet, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 1 steal while Marc Gasol had 11 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block.

LeBron James recorded yet another double-double with 43 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 block while Mo Williams added 20 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds and 5  steals. Shaquille O’Neal had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks and 1 steal while Daniel Gibson would contribute 13 points and 1 rebound. Memphis  improves to 9-12 and will next play on Friday as they play host to the Thunder while Cleveland is now 15-6 and will play in Houston on Wednesday.
