Rally In Fourth By Celtics Beat Bucks For Boston’s Eighth Straight Win 98-89!
Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Game Recap

The Boston Celtics might not want to be standing close to any open containers of gasoline right because they are en fuego! The Celtics once again shot over 50% from the floor for the game Tuesday night as they shot a sizzling 52.2% (35-67) and a fourth quarter rally would push them past the Milwaukee Bucks 98-89.
“The Big Ticket“ Celtics All-Star forward Kevin Garnett led six Boston players in double figures. It was the club’s eighth straight win; they now are tied with the Orlando Magic for the best record in the Eastern Conference at 17-4. Orlando and Boston both trail the L.A. Lakers who have the best record in the NBA at 16-3.
Milwaukee on the other hand has hit a streak of bad luck recently as the team has lost four straight games. The Bucks were led by center Andrew Bogut who recorded a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Milwaukee now trail the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Central Division by 5.5 games.
The game stayed competitive until the Celtics pulled away for good in the final quarter. The Bucks would hold a razor thin lead at the end of the first with the score 27-26. The Celtics would hold the same slim lead at the end of the first half and walked into the locker room on top 49-48.
The only way the game could have been any tighter was if the two teams were deadlocked and at the conclusion of the third they were as the score was knotted up at 71-71. Boston though would take an early 5 point lead in the fourth at 78-73 and they would not surrender their being on top for the rest of the night.
Kevin Garnett led the Boston offense with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals in the Celtics victory. Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins would each score 15 points for the Celtics while Ray Allen and Rasheed Wallace would each add 13 points. Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo just missed a triple-double as he had 11 points, 13 assists, 9 rebounds and 5 steals in the victory.
Andrew Bogut had a double-double with 25 points, 14 boards, 5 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal while Ersan Ilyasova put up 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist. Rookie Brandon Jennings scored 17 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds while Carlos Delfino added 12 points, 5 assists and 2 rebounds. Boston now has a record of 17-4 and will play Thursday night in Washington taking on the Wizards while Milwaukee is now 9-11 and will host the Toronto Raptors Wednesday.
