The Golden State Warriors exploded for 38 points in the second quarter and that would be more than enough to end their four game losing streak and defeat the New Jersey Nets Wednesday 105-89. Monta Ellis and C.J. Watson would lead the Warriors with each scoring 18 points as six players from Golden State scored in double figures.

The loss would be number 20 of the season for New Jersey and their second loss under interim head coach Kiki Vandeweghe who now is 2-2 since assuming the role as bench boss. The Nets were plagued by turnovers as they had 22 of them which would lead to 30 points by the Warriors. New Jersey center Brook Lopez recorded a double-double including a game high 21 points.

The Nets were the aggressors in the first period as they would lead at the end of the quarter 27-20. However Golden State was virtually unstoppable in the second quarter and New Jersey could not keep the pace. The Warriors would walk into the locker room at the half on top 58-48.

The Nets never really were able to recover in the second half as they seemed to be unnerved by Golden State’s offensive output in the second. The Warriors would slightly increase their margin at the end of the third quarter with the score 81-70. New Jersey was at no time during the last 12 minutes of play a viable threat to even get back into the game and Golden State would win handily.
