Magic: LBJ Will Be A Knick
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under COMMENTARY, NBA Rumors

Man, if I had a nickel for every time I heard, “Where is LeBron James playing next season?”, I’d be able to pay my rent every month. I know, I know, it gets old, hearing about LBJ going to New York, Miami, New Jersey and even remaining with the Cleveland Cavaliers – all those rumors coming from countless sources. But it appears that the latest, according to Steve Serby of the New York Post, comes from the mouth of Hall of Famer Magic Johnson.
But to be fair here, the newspaper asked Johnson about his take on the LeBron situation. Johnson says that James will become a Knick, but he also added a caveat:
“I think he’s going to go to New York.
“They’re in the lead, they just have to make it [attractive] for him. LeBron will come to New York if he knows they’re gonna win. . . . So, if they sign a free agent first, that would probably seal the deal, I believe. They should have somebody else on their radar to make him want to come.”
Magic further added:
“Him and Wade can’t play together, I don’t care what they say, because they both dominate that ball,” Magic said. “You want somebody like a Chris Bosh. . . . You want somebody like Stoudemire to go along with LeBron. You got Yao Ming, if he’s healthy, I’d take a look at him as well.”
It is obvious that Knicks fans would love to have LBJ on their squad; but then again, there are other cash-rich teams who will make a run at the Cavs superstar. The obvious thing here is that no one really knows what LeBron is thinking, despite the plentiful and rampant rumors. If it is the financial bottom line, then perhaps anywhere but Cleveland may make sense. But if it is to get that coveted NBA championship ring, then perhaps he needs to remain a Cavalier.
Let’s hope that LBJ doesn’t decide to have a sitdown with Magic because all that will do is make things that much more difficult for him in terms of what he wants to do next season. Magic’s two cents is appreciated, yet I’m not sure what his motivation is in speculating about James’ next move.
LeBron is going to do what he thinks is in his best interests, although I have this hunch that he will sign with the Nets. Especially since the team will relocate to Brooklyn upon completion of Barclays Arena. It’s common knowledge that LBJ is a fan of New York City and the Nets’ relocation to Brooklyn will satisfy that urge. Not to mention that Nets part-owner Jay-Z and James are very good friends. So lots of factors will come into play after this season is over. But for the sake of being redundant, only LeBron knows what he wants to do.
It just so happens that it will more transparent around playoff time.

Good rumor…. But the eight balls says “cleveland”
Magic Johnson should stick to running his movie theaters and leave the NBA talk to someone who still follows the game. James to the Knicks??? That team is garbage. As for the NETS; we are talking about the 2-21 New Jersey NETS right? Not like some Martian team called the NETS? Because he has as good a chance to play on Mars as he does for New Jersey! This guy will not leave Cleveland, the city loves him and he loves his home town
