Some Sixers tidbits from Kate Fagan over at the Philadelphia Inquirer:
- Perhaps it was a matter of time, despite his hefty contract, but 76ers coach has relegated forward Elton Brand to the bench; Brand, who was averaging 14.6 PPG and 8.4 RPG during his last five games, hasn’t started for the third time this season. This goes back to about a month ago when Jordan intimated that he was thinking of benching Brand – something both have previously discussed. How long this experiment lasts in pure speculation at this point.
- Point guard Louis Williams posted on his Twitter account that he was “projecting” himself to return on December 26 against the Utah Jazz; he was expected to be sidelined for eight weeks, due to a broken jaw, which was subsequently wired shut. The team still hasn’t adjusted the timetable for Williams, which is still expecting him to return around the second or third week of January.
