Sessions Trade Bait?

Ramon Sessions

If you’re the Minnesota Timberwolves, then you can consider yourselves in an envious position as the team has an actual guard surplus. Interestingly enough, December 15 (today) is an important date for the NBA as teams are allowed to trade players that were signed as free agents last summer.

One of those players is Ramon Sessions, according to Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Technically, he and Ryan Hollins, as of today, are eligible under the rule which says that a player cannot until December 15 or 90 days after they were signed, whichever date is later. Two other T-Wolves – Sasha Pavlovic and Jason Hart – become eligible to be included in a trade on Thursday and December 28, respectively.

Sessions was signed to a 4-year, $16 million deal in September, so it is mere speculation right now trying to figure out if his contract is doable for any team that may want Sessions. Certainly Flynn isn’t leaving the T-Wolves, so it could possibly happen. I can only hope that the team’s management can get maximum value for Sessions, should they pursue that option.
