Cavaliers Blistering Offense Cuts Down Nets In 99-89 Win!

The Cleveland Cavaliers shot a blazing 58.2% (39-67) from the floor for the game while holding the New Jersey Nets to a less than stellar 39% (30-77) Tuesday night leading to a 99-89 at the Q Arena in Cleveland. LeBron James led all player with 23 points while Brook Lopez and Devin Harris would each score 22 for New Jersey. Lopez would record a double-double while Harris was ejected from the game for committing a flagrant foul.
It has been that kind of season for the Nets who are on track at 2-23 to decimate the Philadelphia 76ers record for worst NBA season in the history of the Association. The 1972-1973 Sixers were 9-73 and New Jersey at their present pace would end up with less wins than Philadelphia had in that campaign. Harris committed the flagrant in the fourth quarter as he was a little over zealous in trying to stop Cleveland forward Jamario Moon from making a layup.
This game was really decided in the first 12 minutes as Cleveland grabbed a substantial lead and New Jersey never truly could mount a successful challenge to overcome it. The Cavaliers came out smoking hot in the first and would end the quarter on top 30-22. The Nets were able to shave one point off their deficit in the second however the team from Cleveland would head into the locker room at the half leading 52-45.
Neither team shot particularly well in the third but the Cavaliers were slightly better and would be ahead 72-63 at the end of the quarter. New Jersey never came close to being a threat in the final quarter.
LeBron James had a game high 23 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals in the Cleveland victory. Both Cleveland centers had strong games as starter Shaquille O’Neal had 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists and 1 steal while Zydrunas Ilgauskas came off the bench and also added 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist and 1 steal. Mo Williams scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and had 6 assists.
Brook Lopez recorded a double-double as he scored 22 points, 15 boards, 2 assists and 1 block while Devin Harris also had 22 points, 3 assists and 1 steal. Rafer Alston came off the bench with 20 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound and 1 steal. Cleveland improves to 18-7 and will play in Philadelphia on Wednesday while New Jersey is now 2-23 and will host the Utah Jazz Wednesday.

man, it has to be tough as a fan knowing Brook Lopez and Devin Harris are your two stars. How can you expect to beat anyone, especially the team that LeBron James plays for.
So what is it, are the Nets emptying the roster in hopes of getting LeBron? Hard to believe he would want to play for them.
