Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard Brandon Roy scored a game high 33 points on Saturday night but it was not enough to overcome the miss-match in the middle as Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard would record a double-double  leading his team to a 92-83 victory. D-Howard knocked down 12 points and grabbed 20 boards as he just ran rampant on Blazers center Joel Pryzbilla. Rashard Lewis would lead the Magic with 15 points as they bounced back from their loss on Friday night against Division rivals the Miami Heat.

Games against the Orlando Magic  are when the season ending loss  of center Greg Oden truly hurt Portland. Joel Pryzbilla now in his tenth campaign in the Association could be the poster boy for the phrase “You Can’t Teach Size.”  The reason that Pryzbilla has been in the NBA for as long as he has is the fact  that he is 7′1″ tall and weighs in at 245. It is certainly not his career averages of 4.2 points and 6.5 rebounds that has given him his longevity.

Now against some teams Portland can get away with Pryzbilla just because of his size. That does not come into play however when you talking about the Orlando Magic who happen to possess the most talented man in the pivot of his generation in Dwight Howard. The Blazers center was merely an annoyance to “Superman” as Howard did what he wanted on the offensive end and though Pryzbilla would get 10 rebounds he would score his career average of 4 points on the night.

Portland would have the advantage in the first half as they held a slim 21-19 margin at the end of the first quarter. They would be able to extend their lead in the second quarter and walked into the locker room at the half on top 44-39.

That lead would be erased in the third quarter as the Magic slowly chipped away at their deficit. As the two  opponents headed into the fourth the contest was knotted up at 65-65. Portland would take back the lead early in the period but with 9:18 left to play J.J. Redick knocked down an outside jumper giving Orlando the lead at 72-70. They would hold the advantage for the balance of the game.

Rashard Lewis scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist while Jason Williams added 13 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound and 1 steal. Dwight Howard hadd a double-double with 12 points, 20 boards, 4 blocks and 2 steals while J.J. Redick came off the bench and had 12 points and 2 assists.

Brandon Roy had a game high 33 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal while Andre Miller scored 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist. Steve  Blake added 11 points coming in off the bench and Jerryd Bayless would knock down 10 more. Orlando with the victory has a 20-7 record and will next play Monday as they host the Utah Jazz while Portland is now 16-12 and will play in Miami Sunday.
