The Cleveland Cavaliers shot 51.1% (47-92) from the field 50% (8-16) had a triple-double by LeBron James and still had to go to overtime to bring down the Sacramento Kings Wednesday night a final score of 117-104.

The Kings had the same point total at the end of regulation as the Cavaliers shut them down and went 13-0 in the extra period. Cleveland is now 2-1 on their 4 game road trip. They will take on the reigning NBA Champions the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center on Christmas for the final game of the road swing.

Tyreke Evans led the Kings with 28 points but his scoring stopped when Cleveland put LBJ on him defensively in the fourth quarter and the O/T. Evans hit just 1-7 from the start of the fourth until the end of the game as he has now been schooled by possibly the premier player in the Association today.

Sacramento head coach Paul Westphal was one of the toughest and scrappiest players to ever lace them up inn the Association when he played in the NBA in the seventies. They say that a team reflects its coach and that seems to be the case with the Kings as they are playing their best ball right now since the glory days under former coach Rick Adelman.

Evans along with Brandon Jennings in Milwaukee and Stephen Curry have appeared to have had rather easy transitions to the Association in this their rookie campaigns. Unfortunately Sacramento is once again without Kevin Martin as the guard is out with a broken wrist. Even without their star they are still just 2 games below even after their loss Wednesday.

The Cavaliers would have strong offensive quarters in the first and the third but their basket seemed to have a lid on it during the fourth allowing the Kings to knot up the game and send it into the extra period. Cleveland led at the end of the first 32-29. They would increase their margin by a point as the game reached the half and they were on top 57-53.

Cleveland and Sacramento both shot well in the third quarter with each team scoring 32 points in the period and the gap between the two teams would remain unchanged at 89-85 as the quarter reached its end. But The Cavaliers would have had trouble hitting the ocean if they were standing on the shore in the fourth scoring just 15 points and the game would be deadlocked at the end of regulation withe the score at 104-104. However the Kings appeared to run out of gas in the overtime as they were held scoreless and Cleveland would walk off the court the victors.

LeBron James recorded a triple-double with a game high 34 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Mo Williams scored 27 points, 3 assists and 1 rebound while Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 25 points off of the bench, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block.

The rookie Tyreke Evans scored 28 points, 5 assists, 3 blocks, 3 rebounds and 1 steal in the loss. Jason Thompson had 18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal while Omri Casspi would add 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists 1 block and 1 steal. Center Spencer Hawes had a double-double with 17 points, 12 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 1 steal while Donte Greene knocked down 10  points. Cleveland now has a record of 22-8 and will face the Lakers on Christmas while Sacramento is now 13-15 and will host the Lakers Saturday.
