The Los Angeles Clippers have to be praying extra hard that rookie Blake Griffin gets his rehabilitation on his knee taken care of ahead of schedule.
That sentiment is especially key, especially since both Al Thornton and Marcus Camby injured themselves during the Clippers’ loss to the Houston Rockets on Tuesday; according to Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times, Thornton jammed his right big toe while Camby hyper-extended his knee.
As expected, Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy doesn’t have a clue right now in reference to Thornton and Camby’s availability for Saturday’s (today’s) game against the Phoenix Suns. Both players being hurt couldn’t have come at a worse time for the Clips as Camby was the team’s leading rebounder (11.7 RPG) and a lack of depth at his position would be glaring.
Meanwhile, Thornton is the Clippers’ fourth-leading scorer (13.4 PPG) and had been starting at small forward since November 9; depending on what Dunleavy does with Camby, expect a lot more playing time from Rasual Butler.
