Former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Flip Murray drained a trey with 56 seconds to play and the Cavaliers saw their 7 game winning streak come to an abrupt end Sunday night as they lost to the Charlotte Bobcats at the Q Arena by a 91-88 final. Cleveland had not lost a game at their home arena since November 5, when they lost to the Chicago Bulls. Stephen Jackson would be the leading scorer for the B-Cats with 22 points while Gerald Wallace had a double-double including 19 points in the win. Cavaliers forward LeBron James led all players with 29 points and Mo Williams added 27 more in the loss.

Cleveland dominated on both ends of the floor in the first and would be on top at the end of the quarter 24-18. Charlotte came back in the second and the Cavaliers lead was down to a razor thin margin of 1 point as the game reached the half with the score 46-45.

The Bobcats would take the lead early in the third and would get the lead 0ver Cleveland to 5 points. Cavaliers point guard Mo Williams would tie the game at  61-61 with a mid-range jumper then gave Cleveland a 64-61 lead with 3:15 left in the period as he drained a trey from 25 feet out. The two opponents would trade hoops until the buzzer  and at the end of the period Charlotte would lead 70-69.

The Bobcats looked like they were ready to pull away as they held an 81-74 advantage with 4:56 in the game after DeSagana Diop knocked down a bucket. However with 1:15 left to play LBJ went 1-2 at the line knotting the game up at 83-83. Nineteen seconds later Flip Murray would knock down the trey to push Charlotte ahead for good at 86-83.

Stephen Jackson led the Bobcats with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block and 1 steal while Gerald Wallace had a double-double as he knocked down 19 points, grabbed 12 boards, 2 steals and 1 block. Raymond Felton scored 17 points, 6 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds while Flip Murray added 10 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.

LeBron James scored a game high 29 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Mo Williams added 27 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 steal while Shaquille O’Neal was the only other Cleveland player in double figures with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Charlotte with the victory now sits at 14-18 and will host the Chicago Bulls Tuesday while Cleveland is now 27-9 and will host the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

    This game was all about Felton. He was the go to scorer when the Cats needed a bucket. I love the why the Cats are playing now. Larry Brown has finally suceeded in putting his defense stamp on this team. They held the Cavs to 88 pts and clamped down on Lebron in the 4th. This team is playoff worthy.
