There of course is no such thing as an unbeatable team in the NBA however possibly the closest thing to that since the Celtics Dynasty of the 1960’s maybe the Cleveland Cavaliers over  the past few weeks. This was a team that was surely going to be in trouble as it lost the only two true point guards on the club when Mo Williams and Delonte West went down with injuries. The Cavaliers rather than struggling have flourished winning their tenth straight contest Thursday at the Q Arena as they defeated the Miami Heat 102-86.

Cleveland All-Star forward LeBron James led all players with a game high 36 points. His teammate on the Eastern Conference All-Star squad Miami guard Dwyane Wade led his team with 24 points in the loss. The Heat have lost their four games and have gone 3-7 in their last 10 games.

The two teams played the first quarter tightly and when the period came to its conclusion the Cavaliers would hold a paper thin 29-28 advantage. The lead would volley back and forth for most of the second however Cleveland would see momentum go their way down the stretch and they would enter the locker room as the game reached the half on top 56-52.

Miami seemed to lose their drive in the second half of the contest and the Cavaliers took full advantage of it as they would lead 81-73 as the third quarter came to an end. The Heat could manage just 13 points in the final 12 minutes and Cleveland would win the game handily.

LeBron James had a game high 36 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks while Shaquille O’Neal knocked down 13 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist. J.J. Hickson scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal while Daniel Gibson added 12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 1 steal.

Dwyane Wade scored 24 points, 9 assists, 4 steals and 2 rebounds. Michael Beasley had a double-double with 21 points, 12 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals while Jermaine O’Neal added 14 points and 3 rebounds. Cleveland now has an Association best record of 40-11 and will host the New York Knicks Saturday while Miami drops to 24-26 and will be in Chicago Saturday to take on the Bulls.
