The rare within-the-division trade took place on Thursday as Alan Hahn of Newsday reports that the New York Knicks consummated a deal, which includes the following:
- New York sends Nate Robinson and forward Marcus Landry to Boston.
- Boston sends Eddie House, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker to New York.
It looks like the Celtics got the offensive spark they needed in Robinson while the Knicks got a bunch of expiring contracts in return, further padding their cap space reservoir. Both teams won on this one – New York padded their cap space in their quest this summer of landing 1 or 2 major free agents and Boston upgraded their bench.
