Bosh’s Game-Winner Helps Raptors Rally, Nip Hawks 106-105
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under NBA Game Recap

Chris Bosh, during the Toronto Raptors’ game against the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night, was suffering through a sub-par shooting performance. His numbers weren’t all that special (14 points on 6-of-19 shooting), yet it took just one shot to turn the tables.
Bosh’s 16-footer with just 2 seconds left on the game clock allowed Toronto to rally and edge Atlanta 106-105 at Air Canada Centre.
Behind by three at the half, the Hawks used back-to-back treys by Mike Bibby and Maurice Evans – along with some poor Raptors shooting – to help them build an eight-point lead late in the third quarter. Evans added another 3-pointer in the final minute of the period to put Atlanta up 86-75 going into the fourth quarter.
Bosh’s jumper cut the Hawks’ lead to five, but Evans drained an uncontested 25-footer to end the Raptors’ run. that started a Hawks’ 7-0 spurt, restoring Atlanta’s double-digit advantage. Toronto rallied again, with Andrea Bargnani’s 3 making it 101-97 with 2:57 remaining in the game; Sonny Weems hit a jumper to make it a two-point margin, and both teams traded baskets until Josh Smith deflected a rebound out of bounds to give the Raptors possession of the ball with 22.6 seconds on the game clock.
Hedo Turkoglu drew a foul, but just made one of two free throws; Toronto recovered the rebound and called a timeout with a4 seconds left, and Bosh, with 2 ticks left, hit the game-winner.
Bargnani led all Raptors scorers with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and a block while DeMar DeRozan added 19 with 3 rebounds and a steal; Turkoglu chipped in 16 with 5 rebounds, 3 assists 2 steals while Bosh poured in 14 with 10 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal.
The Hawks were led by Jamal Crawford with 33 points (including three treys), 2 rebounds and 2 assists while Al Horford added 18 with 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks; Bibby chipped in 17 (including 4 three-pointers) with 4 rebounds, 5 assists, a steal and a block while Evans scored 16 with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a block.
Toronto (33-33) plays again on Friday when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder while Atlanta (43-24) returns home to host the Charlotte Bobcats – also on Friday night.
