NBA Talk: Free Agency Week One

Welcome back for another edition of NBA Talk.  Lots going on this past week in the Association; so let’s get in on the goods.

Free Agency:

Oh boy, where do we start here? Well, let’s clear the air. Many are swirling around the LeBron James stuff. He just made a surprising appearance back in Akron, according to ESPN. Clippers, Nets, Knicks, Heat, Bulls, and all other teams besides Cleveland should stop praying for LeBron to come to their team. I think he is staying like all the other big free agents named such as Dirk Nowitzki, Joe Johnson, and Paul Pierce. By the way, I really think Johnson was paid a bit too much. Right now, with the money and all that, people should consider him an underrated superstar. Not very well known, you know?

Trades

The Denver Nuggets say they won’t trade Carmelo Anthony. Anthony was in trade talks with the New York Knicks. But don’t leave out Tony Parker. I think he will find a landing spot. But if Carmelo can’t bring in a title for Denver for the 2010-11 NBA season, I wouldn’t be surprised seeing him going to a different team entering the 2011-12 season.

D-Wade’s Future:

Dwyane Wade just recently sat down with Pat Riley to talk about things for the Miami Heat’s future and all of that. But in my opinion, I am starting to change my mind as Wade will leave the Heat and go for the Chicago Bulls. Why? He has a home there. This is where he grew up. And playing there would just be magical. And if you haven’t noticed, statistically, Wade is compared more to Michael Jordan as he is a shooting guard and all of that. It just seems weird comparing LeBron to him as if you would seem it could be better comparing him to Scottie Pippen, which would actually seem kind of weird, though.

Also, another thing. If Wade does bolt to Chicago, I wouldn’t be surprised seeing LeBron James and Chris Bosh coming along with him and following. Move over Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce! The NBA has a new Big Three for a new generation as we enter the new decade of the millennium. The best place for Bosh, James, and Wade to pair up will have to be in Chicago. They have the most cap space and they already have a starting point guard and center ready for them in Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. So it’s better with Chicago. Not Miami.

That about wraps things up for this edition of NBA Talk. Join us again next week as we discuss where players have landed and who is still available in the NBA.
