Stability is the modus operandi in Oklahoma City these days as according to Marc Spears at Yahoo! Sports, the Thunder have locked up Kevin Durant on a five-year extension that is worth…are you sitting down? $85 million.
Durant announced the signing on his Twitter account on Wednesday morning, and his agent, Aaron Goodwin, confirmed the deal. The extension will begin during the 2011-12 season.
With the extension, the Thunder ensured their future success as I expect the team to get some extensions prepped for Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green inevitably. Scotty Brooks’ job got automatically easier with the Durant extension.
