What’s a NBA post-season without the two cents – with inflation adjustment – of Mark Cuban, NBA owner/WWE wannabe?
For reasons only known to him and probably him alone, Cuban is saying, according to the Associated Press, that the NBA should investigate how the Miami Heat obtained LeBron James and Chris Bosh and kept Dwyane Wade.
Cuban told a group of reporters at the NBA’s Summer League in Las Vegas that he intends to ask the league to investigate the matter. Last sunday on the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s website, Cuban said that the NBA needs to develop more concrete rules in terms of player tampering; ironically or not, the league’s owners meet in Las Vegas next Monday.
I realize that Cuban is probably trying to have the league’s best interests at heart. But at the same time, Cuban is one of those who, if things do not go in his favor, takes his toys and goes home.
Personally, I think that Cuban is raising a stink because he did not get a trio of players of that stature of his very own, hence the protestations by him. I’d like to know where he gets the idea that tampering was involved. If I remember correctly, Chris Bosh and LeBron James were both free agents as was Dwyane Wade. Now if the aforementioned three were restricted free agents, then Cuban’s argument may have some merit.
Cuban should be lucky that Dirk Nowitzki decided to stay with Dallas as the Mavericks would be a shell of their selves without him. Finally, I have four words for you (an acronym, maybe?): STFU.
