Probably more an insurance policy than anything else, the Associated Press reports that Brad Miller has agreed to a 3-year, $15 million contract with the Houston Rockets.
The signing ensures that the Rockets have a reliable backup to Yao Ming, who is was out a year and is now fully recovered from foot surgery.
Miller is reunited with former Sacramento Kings coach Rick Adelman, who Miller played for when Adelman was in Sacramento. With the Chicago Bulls last season, Miller averaged 8.8 PPG and 4.9 RPG and is entering his 13th season in the NBA.
A very good acquisition for the Rockets as he will not only back up Ming at center, but will also provide some leadership. Hopefully Ming can remain helathy; but if God forbid something does happen, then Miller should have no problems taking over at the 5.
