Iverson Possibly Playing Overseas?

Now that it is official that the 30 teams in the NBA are no longer clamoring for Allen Iverson’s services on the hardwood, what does the 17-year veteran do in an instance such as this?

When the going gets tough, the tough look into playing professional basketball overseas.

According to the Associated Press, Gary Moore (Iverson’s personal manager) says that because none of the Association’s franchises have expressed an interest in Iverson, the next option is possibly playing basketball overseas.

Moore adds that there is “legitimate interest” from a team in China in Iverson’s talents and possibly putting together a deal. Interestingly enough, Moore professes not to know the team in question. Hmmmm.

Meanwhile, Leon Rose (Iverson’s agent), had no comment as of this posting. From all appearances, playing on foreign soil looks like the answer for “The Answer.” It seems to be working for Stephon Marbury. Besides, the last time I checked, professional contracts – both NBA and international – do not exactly grow on trees.

Basically, Iverson has two options: play overseas somewhere or retire. Either way, clarity, I suspect, is around the corner not to mention that his timeline is shrinking by the day.
