Hammy Sidelines D-Wade For Rest Of Preseason

Because of a problematic hamstring, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade will likely miss the remainder of the preseason; expect him to not participate in Miami’s final two preseason game on Thursday and Friday.

Wade’s absence will likely alter the practice routine for the team, at least for the short term. The method behind this is to ease Wade in slowly as the regular season for the Heat begins on Tuesday, October 26 when the Heat goes to Boston to take on the Celtics.

In other Heat news:

  • Heat coach Erik Spoelstra rested his players Tuesday, one day after the team’s sixth preseason game. Although the team was expected to practice on tuesday, they only reported to AmericanAirlines Arena for treatment. A morning shootaround is scheduled for Wednesday (today) before the team boards a plane for Atlanta. Miami takes on the Hawks on Thursday night at Philips Arena.
  • Swingman Mike Miller rolled his ankle twice during Monday’s loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. He left the game in the third quarter; Spoelstra described the injury as a mild sprain and apparently, Miller doesn’t see it as a problem, either. I would venture to say that Miller is a game-time decision on Wednesday.
