Suns New Forward Josh Childress Breaks Finger In Win Over Golden State

The Suns have an injury to one of their new players to deal with, as forward Josh Childress broke his right index finger in the teams Tuesday night exhibition victory over Golden State.

Phoenix says that Childress will have no basketball activity for a week, then will be re-evaluated. The injury took place when he was fouled on a drive to the basket with 7:54 left in the game. He left the contest but returned with 5:39 to go and played the rest of the way.

The Suns acquired the rights to Childress in an offseason sign-and-trade deal with the Hawks. Childress played the last two seasons in Greece after a contract dispute with the Hawks.
