LeBron James Was Right All Along With Racist Comments

Back in July, LeBron James had two new things: a new team, and a new social network account. After his “Decision,” LeBron James started up a Twitter account to help reach towards his fans. However, he was also received with haters.

James, who currently has 9,000 followers, re-tweeted messages of comments received from the haters. James posted three tweets that were written very negative about him. All of them really had to do with racism to the young superstar.

“I just want you guys to see it also,” James said after the Heat’s practice Wednesday afternoon. “To see what type of words that are said toward me and towards us as professional athletes. Everybody thinks it is a bed of roses and it’s not.”

James received this comment:

a big nosed big lipped bug eyed. Ur greedy, u try to hide ur ghettoness.

Obviously, this was a negative, racial slur. Other tweets involved saying that James was a fruad, bitch, and that he should stick his head under a moving car.

Last month in an interview with CNN, James said racism did have a part in his “Decision.” Many didn’t believe him, including me, to be honest. However, James told the truth. James, I apologize. I trust you. I have never been a hater to you, ever.

But James proved everyone wrong. Now for the people who were mad over him in Cleveland, are they going to back up those comments? If they do, it shows how filthy their fans are, truly. James showed everyone.

Is anyone going to stand up and defend those comments? I like to see the racist bastard that can do that. Not even the Cavs’ staff could probably defend those comments. Cleveland fans can’t defend those comments. Only racists. And racism is a huge problem in our world.

James showed a how big of a problem it truly was.

There have been other racist comments, especially on Twitter. Another one came to Miami Hurricanes’ quarterback, Jacory Harris. It was said that the commenter said the only reason Miami lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes was because the Hurricanes had a black quarterback.

I’m telling you, it’s crazy. There are some dumb, ignorant people out there. James proved that, and I give him much respect for that, This makes me want to root for him even more.

“You’re always going to have people who love you and who hate you,” James said. “I have enough motivation but I can always use a little more.”

Anthony Shrugs Off Trade Talks

According to Chris Sheridan of ESPN, the New York Knicks have been making significant progress to pursue Denver Nuggets’ small forward, Carmelo Anthony. Anthony said he isn’t affected at all by the recent trade rumors.

“I’m still able to wake up in the morning, smile, come here, laugh and joke with my teammates, play basketball and compete,” Anthony said. “That stuff doesn’t bother me.”

The Knicks look to offer a three-year $65 million contract and they look to trade Eddy Curry, Anthony Randolph, and a first-round draft pick for him. Danilo Gallanari and a third team could be involved into the trade.

“I’m too focused in on this season right now to let rumors or anything like that come in and take over,” Anthony said. “I’m focusing on playing basketball and doing what’s right for the team.”

Spurs Pick Up Option on George Hill

According to the Associated Press, the San Antonio Spurs picked up their option on point guard George Hill to last him for next season. The IUPUI standout had 12.4 points and 3.6 assists last season for the Spurs.

Hill really helps out the backcourt of San Antonio, which also includes Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.

NBA Rumors

  • “Sources say numerous teams have inquired about [Anderson] Varejao, but the Cavs won’t even entertain such talks unless they’re getting a superstar in return,” Ken Berger said of CBS Sports. According to ESPN, Varejao could be involved in a trade that is progressing with the Knicks and Nuggets. Maybe in fact it could be a three-team trade with the Knicks, Cavs, and Nuggets!
  • Knicks, Nets are increasing in talks to get Carmelo Anthony. “Carmelo definitely, 100 percent wants to be a Knick,” a source tells the New York Post.
  • The Heat waived Shavlik Randolph and Kenny Hasbrouck today. This brings their roster down to 16. One of these three players could be cut next to trim the roster to the league-limit of 16: Patrick Beverely, Jamaal Magloire, and Da’Sean Butler.
  • Suns could sign Erick Dampier. “We are continuing to explore ways to improve our roster,” Suns president of basketball operations Lon Babby told The Arizona Republic.
  • Jason Richardson could get a new contract with the Suns. “We’ve had a number of preliminary discussions regarding Jason,” agent Dan Fegan told The Arizona Republic. “We expect to resume talks to determine a direction in the near future.”
  • Glen “Big Baby” Davis is not worried that this his the final year of his contract with the Boston Celtics. “Yeah, it motivates me, just as a player,” Davis told The Boston Globe. “I can’t dwell on it, because if it worries you, it stops you from the task at hand. So I’m just focused on trying to get back to the championship, trying to win a championship and help my team.”
  • DeJaun Blair will be the starter at power forward with the Spurs.. Blair will be with Tim Duncan, Richard Jefferson, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili. “Starting in the NBA is a big thing for anybody who’s in the NBA,” Blair told the San Antonio Express-News. “Getting minutes is another big thing, and being smart. He’s giving me the opportunity, and I’m going to take full advantage of it and try to be the best I can be.

  1. Yo Josh,

Your Old Pal New York Vinnie is deeply disappointed that a smart young man like yourself is buying this load of Frickin Manure from the “King Of Krappolla.” This was just some sick and twisted PUD who did not have the stones to say things publicly. Unfortunately in a Nation of 0ver 300 million people a certain percentage are Frickin Defective Units.

But this is NOT What The “Un-Chosen One” and his Puppet Master Maverick Carter were talking about last month. They suggested that there was racial bias in the NBA and in the media. This is just some PUD without a life. Two totally different things.

Yo Josh, New York Vinnie is the product of a Purerto-Rican mother and an Italian father. New York Vinnie has had more than my share of racial profiling on my time on this planet. This PUD who wrote this tweet should have the spit knocked out of him! But this in no way verifies what James and Carter were talking about to CNN.

    Be Good My Man!
    NEW YORK VINNIE

    • Josh Dhani says:

You make a good point there Vinnie. My parents are from India and I’ve received some racial profiling as well.

But LeBron James proved his point. These were only just a few tweets he posted that showed he received racists comments. Along with that, the three tweets he showed, two of the tweeters deleted their accounts after that!

I know this doesn’t all prove the point of that he said that racism had a part in his “decision,” but imagine this: he has to deal with thousands upon thousands of messages like these on his social networking accounts like every day!

Obviously there are a bunch of narrow-minded racists who can’t get over LeBron.

But yes, I agree, James did take it too far on CNN. If I were him, I would probably stop with all of this now. I wish I could’ve added in the article, but I guess it’s too late.

To me, James should just stop listening to others now. He shouldn’t really care what people say about him now. He shouldn’t let people determine his legacy. Let LBJ do that for himself.

Him going to Miami doesn’t change my mind about him.

I understand that you are a Knicks fan. Did you want him to go there on The Decision? Or do you just hate him now because he left Cleveland? I really would like to know, Vinnie, why you hate him.

Keep up the good work on Le Basketbawl!

Really looking forward to your reply.

  2. Yo Josh,

Although New York Vinnie would have loved to have seen a player with James’ talent on “MY BOYS” I never expected him to end up in blue and orange. New York Vinnie truly thought he would do the right thing and stay with Cleveland. New York Vinnie HATES Hypocrites Josh, and to me that is what James is. He is a guy who always called himself a leader, talked about his team, and his family. But the PUD did not have the confidence in his abilities to finish the mission. Instead he ran away like a little baby to join his pal “The Real Leader” Dwyane Wade. The man he IDOLIZES Michael Jordan says he would never have done that, and if Bird or Magic were asked they most certainly would say the same thing. Bottom Line LeBron James is a Frickin Phoney Baloney!

This player could have created a legacy that surpassed Jordan, yet he threw it away because he did not believe enough in himself. He is no longer the number one guy on his team he is second after Wade.

Josh, New York Vinnie has noticed something over the past couple of months. The conversation is no longer about who is better Kobe or James. Now what New York Vinnie keeps hearing is Kobe being compared to Kevin Durant! A young man who made and kept a bond with the OKC Thunder. LeBron can win ten rings, but they will not be because of him. They will be because of D-Wade!

You Know You Are New York Vinnie’s Man Josh!
    New York Vinnie

  3. Keith Andres says:

    Vinnie,

As a native Clevelander and Cavs fan, I applaud you on your posts. I agree that the morons who post this crap on the social network sites should have their heads beat in.

James was labeled as the savior of the Cleveland championship droughts. He is a good basketball player, and yes I routed for him while he was here. But, when he went on national television to announce that he was going to Miami, he publicly let down all the Cav fans.

I am no racist. I hate James with all my heart for what he did to my city, But I will never racially degrade him for any reason. He chose to leave. Fine, he should have just left. It would still have disappointed all the Cleveland fans. But it would not have made us feel like he felt Cleveland was a loser and that he had to leave us to win.

  4. Russ Loede says:

    New York Vinnie:

The love with Kevin Durant is sickening. Almost just as bad as the hate for LeBron. Durant will NEVER, and I mean, NEVER reach Kobe, LeBron, or Dwayne’s status. Count on it. He will always be on a level below.

Durant is a great scorer, but is he ever going to be the BEST player in the league? No. Throw a Ron Artest on him and he’s conquered.

OKC is one of the most overrated teams in the Association. The love for them and Durant is going WAY TOO FAR! Typical sports fans. I saw it coming.

Remember the young man who “kept a bond” with Cleveland not so long ago? That was LeBron. Let’s stop praising Durant. Who knows, he might turn his back on OKC. I know I would. Who wants to play there? Beware of anointing Durant the next “BIG” thing.

I will NEVER blame LeBron for leaving Cleveland. NEVER. People need to hate the HEAT more than hate LeBron. I’m fine with heating the Superteam, but the hate for LeBron has gone too far. He is SUCH a great talent. I love watching this kid play.

As far as him being the next Jordan and all this talk comparing him with #23 and Kobe -just STOP it! He’s not that kind of player. He’s MORE Magic or Doctor J if anything. How dare he not want to be like MJ! Give me a break.

Oscar Robertson said it best, “he’s in a class of his own”. LeBron is LeBron. He’s a unique, gifted player we have never seen before.

Why isn’t anybody praising LeBron for wanting to be all about WINNING? Isn’t that the reason you play? To WIN? I think so. Why isn’t anybody praising him for not worrying about his legacy? He wants to be the “sidekick” next to Wade. Why is this such a bad thing?

Does everyone have to be like Jordan, Magic, Bird, and Kobe? Who cares if he doesn’t have that killer instinct. Who cares if he doesn’t have the fire to be selfish enough and be the #1 guy. Who cares if he just want to have fun, win rings, live in South Beach, and play with his friends. Can you blame him? I know I can’t. Who knows, if we were put in that situation maybe we would’ve been tempted to do the same. We never know.

Why was it the “right” thing to stay in Cleveland? Why should you play in a dump city, in a bad market, with a trashy owner? Cleveland!?!? Why? Chicago, New York, Miami…anywhere but Cleveland.

People tend to forget the NBA is about ENTERTAINMENT. About having FUN. That’s what LeBron is ABOUT! Entertaining, having fun, and just playing the game. That’s why he left Cleveland. He had enough of the team and the city. Can you blame him? I can’t.

Durant & Kobe. NO CONTEST. Durant & LeBron, still NO CONTEST. Give me LeBron over Durant, Miami over Cleveland, and WINNING over the IMPOSSIBLE a.k.a. winning a championship in a city like Cleveland like any day of the week.

  5. Russ Loede says:

“I always let LeBron know, ‘Dawg, they love you right now, they love you right now, but please believe me, the first incident, the first time something happens, they are waiting, man … just like, I hate to bring it up, but the other situation with Kobe. All this time he’s the No. 1 man, the perfect man in everyone’s heart. He’s the No. 1 man … all I know is, you are you. You are who you are, man. Don’t try to act like somebody else. And I’m not saying Kobe acted like that, Kobe Bryant is who he is, dog, but these people want him to be the Kobe Bryant that they want him to be. And it ain’t right.”

-Allen Iverson, five years ago on Stephen A. Smith’s “Quite Frankly” show.

That was the real issue last summer: We wanted LeBron to be who we wanted him to be. And you know what he was? A 25-year-old guy who wanted to live in Miami, play with his buddies, get some help and find the easiest way possible to win a championship.

    -Bill Simmons

“but these people want him to be the Kobe Bryant that they want him to be. And it ain’t right.”

“We wanted LeBron to be who we wanted him to be”

That’s the “REAL” issue at hand. Like it or not, we can’t shape LeBron into what we want him to be or feel what’s the best for him and have him it be just that.

I don’t know why we want LeBron to be the so-called “next Jordan”

Same with Kobe, Kobe is Kobe. He is who he is. Same with Michael. Can we just appreciate LeBron for who he truly is? I can.

  6. Yo Russ,

My Main Man you have rung the Frickin Bell! Ding-Ding! New York Vinnie has been waiting for somebody from your side to bring up the only LEGITIMATE reason that James had for leaving Cleveland. That winning NBA Titles are more important to him than being known as the greatest of all time. Russ, if James had come out and said that to the media and the public then New York Vinnie would give him his propers. If he said I feel my chances of winning Championships will be enhanced by my playing Robin to D-Wade’s Batman, New York Vinnie would have all the respect in the world for him.

But Russ this is not what he did, he is trying to have his cake and Frickin eat it too! Do you know why nobody is mad at Bosh? Because Bosh never called himself the KING. Did the Frickin Media put that tatoo on his arm that says King James? If you want to be a King than you must be a leader, not a sidekick. That is why New York Vinnie thinks he is a hypocrite.

Watch out for Durant My Man, the Kid in New York Vinnie’s eyes IS the real deal. He also signed a long term extension with them before last season, so he is going no where soon. If they had a legit man in the middle they would be Frickin Scary Good!

    Good Stuff My Man,
    New York Vinnie

  7. Yo Keith,

The higher the pedestal, the longer the fall. As New York Vinnie keeps writing he did not have the confidence in his own abilities that those who believed in him did. New York Vinnie is POSITIVE that if it had been Larry Bird who may be the WHITEST man on the Planet, he would have undergone the same backlash. Those Blonde haired Blue eyed teenage girls who wore James jersey when he was playing for the Cavaliers all of a sudden turned into Klan Members? That’s a Frickin joke. Bottom Line is he was looked at as somebody special before July 8. As Jay-Z said “This Is The Life That I Chose, Not The Life That Chose Me.” When LeBron chose to be a follower and not a leader he lost a lot of people’s respect including New York Vinnie’s! Good Luck with your team this season Keith
    New York Vinnie

  8. Russ Loede says:

    New York Vinnie,

No doubt Kevin Durant is the “real deal”. I will not question that. I agree with you 100%.

However, is Durant ready to become the NBA’s best player? Is he ready to lead his team to the “Promised Land”? High, lofty territory and ground to be approaching with this kid. Too many are falling in love with him way too early. How many Playoff series has he won?

I think its a bit too premature to hype Durant and this team as the “NEXT” big thing, especially considering all the other really good teams and superstars this league has to offer. Many have accomplished more, not only indiviudally, but team-wise too.

OKC is a 3rd scorer/contributor away, at least. And Durant still lacks the “takeover” 4th quarter mentality like a Kobe, a Wade, a LeBron. Can he be the next big thing when someone can lock him down for a lengthy period of time? I don’t remember any one quieting Kobe, Wade, or LeBron like the way Durant was quieted by Artest this past Spring. Do you? Sometimes he relies on his jumper a bit too much for my liking. I know its almost automatic, but still.

Durant is a rare, rare player. But is he the next face of the NBA? Does he have it within him? I just don’t think he does, well, not yet. We’ll see if he develops the “it” factor. At this present moment, I’m saying no.

  9. Yo Russ,
My Man You bring up some excellent points. New York Vinnie believes that much of the good will that is being generated towards OKC is because of the season they had last year. Nobody expected it, and people love the underdog. They also have scrappy coach in Scottie Brooks who was the poster boy for journey-man NBA Players and said all the right things last season. He talked about maximizing effort and leaving it all out on the floor. New York Vinnie agrees Durant has not sustained greatness for a long enough period of time to put him the class of Kobe. We have seen too many flash-in-the-pan guys before who look like they are heading for Springfield and the Basketball Hall Of Fame only to get lost on the way. All he has proven so far My Man is that he has the talent, but New York Vinnie agrees we have to see if he can sustain it.
