With Collins Still Out, 76′ers Beat Up Knicks 118-91

Still without their head coach Doug Collins, the 76ers finally finished strong and won a preseason game, topping the New York Knicks 118-91 to close out their preseason slate.

The Sixers, losers to the Cavs on Tuesday night in Cincinnati, finish the preseason 2-5, and are hoping to have their coach back for their opener.

Collins missed his second straight game because of symptoms related to a concussion he suffered on Memorial Day. Collins was undergoing tests Wednesday and his next on-court activity is scheduled for Friday’s practice.

The Sixers were led by both Jason Kapono and Andre Iguodala, who each scored 20 points. Lou Williams added 18 while Elton Brand had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers.

The regular season for the 76ers will start with a huge matchup as they play the Miami Heat on October 27th at home.

Associate head coach Michael Curry said that Collins’ hand prints were all over the game plan Wednesday night against the Knicks. “It was all scripted by him,” Curry said.

Raymond Felton scored 16 points while Landry Fields(notes) and Anthony Randolph had 15 each for the Knicks (3-4), who will finish their preseason Friday against the Toronto Raptors in Montreal. Timofey Mozgov also had 12.

New Knick Amare Stoudemire was given the night off after scoring 39 points in a 117-111 win Tuesday against New Jersey.
