Sporting a walking boot, it looks like Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas will miss a minimum of two regular season games as he tries to recover from a strained tendon in his right ankle, according to Antonio Gonzalez of the Associated Press.
Wizards coach Flip Saunders has said that Arenas will be reevaluated by doctors and will miss contests on Thursday and Saturday against Orlando and Atlanta, respectively, adding:
“He’s definitely not going to play these two games.”
“We’ll evaluate and hopefully both of these days in the boot will let that, right now the tendon is inflamed, we got to get that thing to settle down. Once it settles down and some of that fluid gets out of it he’s going to have a better chance at playing.”
This setback is one of several that Arenas has been through, starting with the infamous 50-game suspension for a felony gun conviction, followed by the faked knee injury in which he said that he pulled this stunt in order for Nick Young to start.
Suffice it to say, Arenas is in need of a major character rehabilitation. If you’re keeping score at home, the score is: Karma 3, Arenas 0.
