I looked up disappointment in the dictionary and the Clippers logo showed up. (Next to it was a picture of Greg Oden) How can a team with so much talent be 1 – 7 after 8 games? Even with a new head coach, Blake Griffin already a potential all-star and Eric Gordon off a successful stint with Team USA, they have only competed in a handful of games so far.
It starts at the top. Sterling doesn’t care about winning. The culture has always been about spending a little, but hoping for a lot. They’ve chased all the good players out after their initial 3 year contract expires. Players quit and look frustrated more than any other franchise in the NBA.
As a die hard Lakers fan, I understand the Clippers are the JV team in L.A., but they should at least be making the playoffs. Blake Griffin is on Sportscenter every time he steps on the court, but the games aren’t competitive. There’s a lot of blame to pass around, but this season I look no further than Baron Davis. Ever since he’s showed up on the scene, he’s been more focused on his producing career than basketball. He grew up in L.A. and you would think he would be motivated playing in front of the home crowd. Instead he comes into camp at 260-270. Ron Artest at his heaviest was around there, but he’s about 5 inches taller than Baron! (and at least Ron uses his weight to his advantage) The biggest problem is that the Clippers actually want to trade him, but because of his contract and “Iverson” type status, no one wants him.
Back to the hope, Blake Griffin. He’s a highlight reel waiting to happen, but unfortunately he’s on the wrong team. I’ve seen him and Eric Gordon already frustrated. Maybe Sterling should watch Undercover Boss and pick up some tips on how to be a better leader. Better yet, he should fire himself (but that’s not happening). It’s a shame all the wasted talent on the Clippers, but remember their motto…”there’s always next year.”

I think us Hornets fans can take solace in the fact that Baron is no longer with us
