NetsDaily.com reported that the new Brooklyn franchise for the New Jersey Nets have already unveiled their new logo and team name. This may very well be true. The team name is believed to be the Brooklyn New Yorkers. The domain name for the website was purchased, too. It is believed that two lawyers from Pepper Hamilton, which is a law firm from Philadelphia, hold the rights to trademark and everything with this.
“There’s no indication in the US Patent and Trademark Office files that the Nets are associated with the lawyers,” the site’s report reads. “A spokesman for the Nets declined comment Monday when asked about the trademark applications by NetsDaily. A spokesperson for Mikhail Prohorov’s Onexim Group told NetsDaily recently that the applications are ‘not ours.’ The attorney of record on three of the five applications has not responded to a request for information.”
Hopefully the dust clears on this issue.
But has to do with the Nets as read from Nets Daily:
On September 30, two lawyers associated with a large Philadelphia law firm sought trademark protection for the name, “Brooklyn New Yorkers”, three logos featuring either a basketball or a basketball player and the Brooklyn Bridge and even a slogan, “We Come to Play”.

I don’t see how these people could fool us like this. This most certainly has to do with the Nets.
I guess there you have it, folks.
The Nets will be the Brooklyn New Yorkers once they re-locate in 2012. Jeez, their new team name is more corny than the old one.

The Brooklyn name has always been huge in the rap game and a Brooklyn team is gonna sell alllllllot of merchandise.. Not sure about the logos though, kinda weak
i think your name should be the brooklyn nets it fits more with jets,and mets.Plus you should keep nets so that it will still be remembered.not to mention that you will be able to make a better logo with it.hope it gives you an idea ,and peace
that name and logo are ridiculously stupid. u cant come up with a better name or logo than that? whats wrong with the brooklyn nets? you’d have to be embarrassed as hell to be their fan today.
