Sixers Win In Overtime, Beat B-Cats 96-92

I know what you were thinking when crunch time came around and I was thinking the same thing.

Oh, no not again! We blew it!

Little did we know that Lou Williams would come up clutch yet again and that we would get our first overtime win this season.

It was late in the fourth quarter, when the Sixers were up by as many as nine until the Bobcats made a comeback and took the lead.

Suddenly, there is 4.7 second left to go and the Sixers find themselves down by 3 points. Who do they go to?

Who else, but Sweet Lou?

Williams squared up, gave D.J Augustin a pump fake and nailed the three pointer from the side, sending the game into OT, 86-86.

During overtime, both teams when back-to-back and found themselves in a tie ball game at 90-90. That is, until 37 seconds left.

Elton Brand grabbed his 13th rebound off of Gerald Wallace’s miss and dished the ball to Andre Iguodala. Then, Iguodala took a 19 foot jumper to take the lead and seal the deal for the 76ers.

The Bobcats started to play the fouling game and it was over from there.

Sixers win 96-92.

In this matchup Williams and Iguodala really came through for the Sixers and so did Brand as he was all over the boards.

Williams was the leading scorer with 23 points. Iguodala and Brand also had solid games.

Iggy had 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and Brand had 13 points and 13 rebounds.

It was another solid performance from the Sixers (let’s put aside their unlucky shots right under the basket) as they seek to make a run for the playoffs. Doug Collins is doing a great job of bringing the franchise in the right direction.

Another thing the Sixers are starting to do is becoming consistent.

With this win the Sixers improved their record to 17-23 and currently hold the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference.
